Every BALIMORE record is written, produced and mixed by Steven Ran Cohen. BALIMORE is the name on the record; he is the name on the credits.

He works in two worlds at once. BALIMORE is the night one — techno built for long rooms, where the story is carried by a kick and a filter rather than a lyric. The other is Richard Dall, a deep outlaw-country artist with a bass-baritone voice and songs about grief, debt, pride and starting over. Forty-three releases there, thirty-four here.

The two never borrow from each other on purpose, but they were written by the same person, and it shows in the same place: both are about holding something together that is quietly coming apart. One says it out loud over a guitar. The other says nothing for six minutes and then drops.
